Life originates from two places in Horse Reality: Wildlife Parks that spawn feral horses and the Foundation that spawns all other breeds. If you trace the pedigree of any Horse Reality horse back to its oldest ancestors, those will either be Foundation or Wildlife Park horses (depending on the breed). Wildlife Parks only hold breeds specific to their continent.
You can find each Wildlife Park on the right border of the city map or by clicking on the amount of Wildlife Tickets you own in the top menu.

When a new feral breed is introduced to Horse Reality, this will happen by creating new Wildlife Park parents. The same goes when new genes are added to a feral breed already in-game. This is because new genes can only be introduced by adding new Wildlife Park parents at the moment. Sometimes, Wildlife Park parents are also confusingly referred to as "Foundation horses" since they build the Foundation of the feral breeds.
It is usually the better choice for new players to buy a horse from the market. But there are also many reasons to visit Wildlife Parks: Adding new blood to your breeding program, starting your breeding line without building on the efforts of another player, getting your hands on a new breed or new genes, or just feeling lucky and wanting to see if you can catch a horse.
A visit to a Wildlife Park will cost 1 WT (Wildlife Ticket), which gives a player 20 clicks for a chance at a random encounter with a feral horse. When a feral horse appears, you can choose whether you want to “catch the horse” or “look further”. If you choose to catch the horse, you might be out of luck, and the horse escapes. However, if you catch the horse, you will be automatically redirected to the profile of your new horse, and your turn in the Wildlife Park is over. This means that you can catch a maximum of one horse at a time, and you will sometimes leave the park empty-handed. Although unlikely, it is possible that you encounter no horses during your 20 clicks.
There is a set of about 40 mares and 40 stallions per breed which constitute the local Wildlife Park parents. These horses cannot be encountered or caught. They get paired at random to produce horses that players can encounter. Wildlife Park parents age and are eventually replaced to bring new genetic material into the game. However, this may happen irregularly, so some of them enjoy a rather long life.
When you encounter a feral horse, you can only see its sex and appearance. Only if you successfully catch the horse will the game generate it and reveal its stats and parents to you. This also means that if you fail to catch a specific horse, you have no way of encountering it again and no other player can catch it - it simply vanishes from existence.
Horses caught in Wildlife Parks can either be foals or adults.
