¶ Conformation
The Exmoor Pony exhibits one of the oldest pony-build types. After withstanding changes that occurred throughout time to other breeds, they are adapted to living in a natural environment without human interference. The Exmoor has a big head with hooded eyes, deep and wide chest as well as strong, sure-footed legs. The coat is so well-adapted to direct water away from the skin that it's suitable to keep a horse warm even during harsh conditions in winter.
¶ Colour Genetics
The main colours of the Exmoor Pony are bay and seal brown, both with lots of sooty and pangaré. White markings, however, do not appear in the breed.

¶ Artwork Updates
The Exmoor Pony is one of Horse Reality's older breeds, drawn all the way back in the alpha version around 2012. Ever since the current Horse Reality version has been online, the Exmoor Pony received/will receive the following updates:
- Received an artwork update on Dec 15th 2021[1]
- The dun (D) allele was added to the game through new Foundation horses on April 19th 2023[2]
As of now, the breed has a complete set of alleles[3]

¶ Breed in Real Life
The Exmoor Pony is a feral pony found in Devon, UK. It is a small but strong pony that lives in the wild under tough conditions. Its numbers were extremely low after the Second World War, but the breed was saved by dedicated breeders. Nowadays a few herds live in semi-feral conditions, and others are kept as domestic horses to ensure enough bloodlines to keep herds healthy as well as to provide a meaningful future for every pony. All Exmoors have the same characteristics, they are a (sooty) bay or seal brown, with pangaré.
