The Market is a location in Horse Reality. Here players can buy horses, purchase items, or find studs and/or semen vials that are being listed by other players.
In the Explore section of the Market, you can purchase horses, items, and stud & semen services. Both the horse and stud markets have local, global, and private filters. In the Office section, you can view all your current sales, studs, offers, and incoming private offerings. You can also create a sale here.
you can access the Market via the city map. The Market should be easy to find, as it is a large building in the centre of the world.
By clicking on the “Explore” button right next to our NPC Naomi Hauwangaa, owner of the African Wild Park, you will be forwarded to the Explore section. This is where you go to buy Horses, Items, or find Studs & Semen for your breeding needs.
This part of the Market shows you every current public trade made by other players. Horses, Items, and Studs & Semen have their own categories. For Horses and Studs & Semen, you can look at global (all continents), local (your own continent), or private markets (only trades sent to you specifically).
Buying Horses and Items is done in a very similar way, but if you are looking for a horse to buy there are two options to do so. Players with a Premium Account will have access to additional search criteria for both options.
Option 1, Horses Only: Click Search in the General menu on the left side of the screen. On the setting “For Sale”, choose “Yes”. You can use the filter options from the search function to reduce the number of results. After this, press the orange Search button. After you find a horse that you want to buy, simply click on the green Trade symbol. You can do so while you're in the search area or on the horse's profile. Sales will be either buyout (instant buy), bidding (auction style), or both. If you enter an auction, you can track it from the My Offers tab in the Office.
Option 2, Horses and Items: This is done on the Explore page. Choose what you want to buy, and can use the sorting and filter options to narrow down the results. As soon as you find a horse to buy, simply click on the orange Eye icon, the horse, or its name to view the trade. Horses can be bought for buyout (instant buy), bidding (auction style), or both. Items can only be bought for what they are listed at, and are also instant purchases.
Using Studs and buying Semen Vials is very similar to buying Horses and Items, but there are some differences.
Option 1, Studs Only: Click Search in the General menu on the left side of the screen. On the setting “Stud”, choose “Yes”. You can use the filter options from the search function to reduce the number of results. After this, press the orange Search button. After you find a stud that you want to breed your mare(s) to, simply click on the multicolour Breed symbol. You can do so while you're in the search area or on the stallion's profile. You will then have to select the mare you want to breed to the stud. Some players will allow multiple currency options, but you do not need all of them, you can just pick one. All stud breedings are instant.
Option 2, Studs and Semen: This is done on the Explore page. When you click the Studs & Semen tab, you will be given a list very similar to the Horses tab. Here, Studs and Semen Vials options are mixed, but you can use the filter function to show one or the other, as well as other filtering options. After selecting the stallion you with to use, click the multicoloured Breed button. Some studs have both an active stud listing and semen vials listing, so you can choose which one you want. Some players will allow multiple currency options, but you do not need all of them, you can just pick one. All stud and semen vial breedings are instant.
Not all players offer Live Foal Guarantee or LFG (allowing you to breed again for free or at a discount when a covering fails) so if this is important to you, you can check the owner's profile, or send them a DM. It may be a different policy for stud coverings and vial usage.
When looking at Seman Vials, you may notice the age of some of the stallions. This is due to how the game calculates age, even after a horse has passed away.
Your Office can be accessed in the Market, next to Explore. You will be greeted by the NPC Hernando’s smiling face. Clicking the dark “Office” button will take you to an overview of all your sales, studs, and offers, including public and private ones. To quickly create a listing for a new sale or stud, you can click the orange “Create New Sale” button, which will take you directly to the Create New Sale page.
After clicking the dark “Office” button, you will be taken to your overview page, which will have four categories displayed. Each of these categories has at least one blue icon associated with the listing type. You can view a category by clicking the orange eye icon.
This section lists all your public sales. In the Horse Reality Market, it is currently possible to sell horses, items bought from the Equistore, and semen vials collected from stallions at the Veterinary.
To see more details, including the specific listings and how much the sale is for, click the orange eye icon. For Item and Vial sales, you can also see how many are listed at that price.
This section shows all of your stallions that have been listed publicly for stud. By clicking the orange eye icon, you can see all of the stallions you have put up for stud, and the amount/type(s) of currency that you are asking for. Each listing counts towards the total, not the number of stallions. This means if you have four stallions put up for stud, but they each have a public and private listing, the total will display as eight, not four.
Here you can see all the bids that you have made on the auctions of horses owned by other people. If you buy a horse for its Buyout price, or buy Items and Vials, these purchases will not be shown here, as they are instant.
By clicking the orange eye icon, you can track all the auctions you have entered, even if someone else has put in a higher bid. If your bid is currently the highest in an auction, the offer will be highlighted in green. If there is a higher bid than yours, your offer will be greyed out. You will also be able to see how many offers have been placed on the auctions you have entered, and how much time is left on each auction.
In the last section, you can see every private listing that someone else has made for you. You will get a notification at the time the private listing is made, but in the case you cannot find that notification, this section saves all incoming private listings. Here you will be able to see private sales, private studs, and private vial sales (Items cannot be sold privately at this time).
Sales can be active until the seller cancels, or you reject the listing. Private sales will also have a timer set when the sale is created, and will automatically cancel when the timer runs out. Vials are listed for a set number, so if you use all the vials, the sale will automatically cancel. Studs do not have a timer or an amount limit, and must be cancelled or rejected manually.
To create a sale from the Market page, you can click the orange Create Sale Button found either on the main Market page underneath the Office, or you can click the orange New Sale button while viewing the Explore or Office pages. Depending on your screen size, you may see different buttons, but they will always be orange with a "+" symbol. After clicking one of these buttons, you will be greeted with a screen with four tabs.

Selling a Horse, Item, or Semen Vials is done similarly. After clicking one of the Create a Sale buttons, and selecting the tab you need, simply fill out the information required. Sales can be edited after posting, but if you are making substantial changes on a horse after people have bid (for example, removing a background) please cancel a trade and remake it.
There are several options to customise a sale, and slight differences between these sale types. However, making a sale listing is easy when you fill out the information in the correct tab. You can choose to post Horse and Semen Vial sales as either public or private.
Selling anything through the Market to another player makes them the rightful owner of what they bought. After the trade has been completed, the new owner has total control of it. Nothing can not be retrieved by the staff of the Horse Reality Team.
There is another way to sell a horse, which can be done outside the Market. You can sell a horse directly from the horse's profile page, by clicking on the Summary tab. In the field called “Actions”, you can find a symbol with two green arrows, both facing the opposite direction of the other, called “Sell Horse”. This will lead you directly to the Market's “New Sale” page, with the horse preselected.
When selling a Horse, starting bids for an auction and buyout price must be a minimum of 1 000 HRC. Once you create the trade, the horse will remain on the market for the specified time unless another player opts for the buyout, you accept the highest offer early, or you cancel the trade manually. You can train and show your horse while the trade is active.
Unlike Horses or Stud & Semen sales, all Item sales are public and global. All Item trades last for 30 days. Only the amount sold, and price per piece are customisable.
Semen Vials sales can have multiple currency options. Buyers do not need to use all currency options, they choose only one. When creating the sale, the amount of vials you wish to sell can be selected. The sale for these vials will end when the last vial is sold. Providing you do not use all your vials in one sale, you can have public and private sales active at the same time. For example, you have 10 vials. You can list 5 publicly, and 5 privately.
Clicking on the “Add Stud” will list a stallion for stud on the market, not put it up for sale. Like Horses and Semen Vials, public or private Stud listings can be created. There are two ways to make a Stud listing.
Option 1: Within the Market, on any page, you can click on the orange "+" icon. Choose “Add stud” and select a stallion from the drop-down on the left side in order to create a trade, then choose the listing details and your payment options. As with Semen Vials, you can accept multiple currency options, but players only have to select one of the options, not all.
Option 2: Go to a stallion's profile and click on the Summary tab. By the field called “Actions”, you can find a symbol with two gender icons combined called “Put Up For Stud”. This will lead you directly onto the Market's “Add stud” page with the horse preselected.
Stud listings are available have no set expiration period or use limit. As long as a stud lives, or until the owner cancels the offer or makes it private, the stud listing will be active.
To set a stud as Private, set the “private” switch to ON and add the player's IGN (in-game name) you want your stud to be available for. If you wish to give more players access to your stud, press Enter on your keyboard after each IGN to continue adding more names. If you wish to have different prices for different players, you will have to create a separate private listing for the players. If your stud is already on the public market and you would like to set up a Private stud, you can do so via the Office. You can set different prices for public and private listings as well.
When viewing your sales and studs in the Office, you might notice you can't see some of your listings. If this is the case, please check that you have Private turned on or off. Having Private on will only allow you to see your private listings while having Private off will only allow you to see your public listings.

If your horse has tack and/or a background when you sell it, these items are sold together with the horse. They are not removed when you create a sale. If you want to keep your items, make sure to remove them before putting your horse on the market. If you notice too late that your horse is up for sale with a background and/or tack and you have already received bids on the horse, cancel the trade, remove the items, and then put the horse back on the market.
You can remove equipment in a horse's profile, in the Training tab. Equipment can be found under General on the right side of the page. Simply click on the image of the background or tack you wish to remove. Once it has been removed, the image will no longer show in Equipment.
When a pregnant mare is sold to another player, the foal will be born at the estate of the new owner of the mare. This player will be considered both the breeder and the owner of the foal. If the foal is born before the trade expires, it is possible that the Seller of the mare will artificially age the foal and the buyer only receives the mare.
If you want to sell a newborn foal but want to keep the mare, you must wait until the foal reaches 6 months of age. It's not possible to sell unweaned foals without their dams. If you put a mare up for sale with an unweaned foal by her side, the Buyer will always receive both if not enough time has passed to for the for to wean (in game or with the age up button).
If a mare is up for sale and the seller sends her unweaned foal to the retirement home, the foal will no longer be shown next to (or sold with) the mare.
Always be careful when bidding on a mare+foal combination, and ideally come to a written agreement with the seller via a DM. A screenshot of such DMs will help the Horse Reality moderating team track down cheaters. The only way to guarantee that you will receive both mare and foal is by paying the Buyout price if there is one, which means the sale is instant.
In the above image, you can see an "Expiry" time for each auction. This timer says how many time units are left as integers. To give an example: when it says the expiry is in 5 hours, it means "at least 5 hours but under 6 hours". When a timer is truly at 5:59:59 the auction will say that the expiry is in 5 hours.
As a seller, you can cancel any of your ongoing sales or stud listings, so long as they haven't expired or been bought out by someone, regardless of existing bids.
Go to the City Map > Market > Office. In the Office, select the category of the listing you wish to cancel (My Sales or My Studs) and click the orange Eye icon. You will then see three options. Click the red X button to cancel.

I won the auction of a horse, but I haven’t received the horse yet. Why is that?
After the auction has come to an end, it takes a couple of minutes for the game to process your purchase. Once the auction has been processed internally, the horse will be moved to your stable automatically.
What is the difference between a Buyout and an auction?
By clicking on the payment “Buyout”, you will accept the trade and pay the price which is determined by the seller. It is an instant buy that guarantees you will be the new owner. In an auction, you will have to outbid other players for time set by the Seller. Only the player with the highest bid will get the horse after the auction ends. Auctions can end when the timer runs out, or when the Seller accepts the most recent bid.
What is “Bid Sniping” or “Sniping”?
This is a common player-used term to describe the action of putting in a bid with seconds to go when an auction is ending. It is not against Horse Reality rules but may annoy other bidders. As such, if a Seller does not want their auction to end this way, they may choose to end the auction early.
Can I cancel my bid? I don't want that horse anymore.
No, cancelling bids is not possible once you have made an offer.
Horse Sales have always been a part of the Market, though several updates for functionality and QoL have been released.
