¶ Conformation
The original goal for the Trakehner was to be the ideal cavalry mount with power, endurance, and swiftness being important qualities that breeders looked for. The Trakehner's conformation today makes them ideal for dressage, with their medium width, long necks; strong, sloping shoulders and balanced backends.
¶ Colour Genetics
Trakehners have three basic base coats: black, chestnut, bay. In addition to these basic coats, this breed has the ability to be affected by the cream dilution and grey modifier. Trakehners also have untestable (hidden) genes that allow for the expression of seal brown, flaxen, and sooty. This breed has a variety of white patterns. The Trakehner's white patterns can be expressed as general white markings as well as tobiano, roan, and SW1.

Please note that the table includes a hidden agouti allele (At). Besides testable genes, there are also untestable ones present: sooty, flaxen, and white markings (head markings, socks, etc.).
¶ Artwork Updates
The Trakehner was added to the game in 2018. Ever since the current Horse Reality version has been online, the Trakehner Horse received/will receive the following updates:
- New coat variations (colour) on October 14th 2020[1]
- Will receive a new greyscale in the future.[2]
- Adding missing genes through new Foundation horses [3]
- Trakehner Horses currently do not display sooty on cream or seal brown
¶ Breed in Real Life
The Trakehner is a successful sport horse from eastern Germany, with a very special aptitude for dressage. Its development began hundreds of years ago when their ancestors were selected as cavalry horses.
However, they've also been used as coaching horses and even for work on the farm. Between 1939 and 1945 the breed went almost extinct due to the Second World War, with only a few of the toughest horses surviving. Today the breed is once again in popular demand. Famous horses include the showjumper Abdullah and the dressage stallion Gribaldi. The dressage legend Totilas is one of Gribaldi's well-performing offspring.
