¶ Conformation
PRE horses are considered medium size with shorter backs, high set, arched necks and overall strong forms. Their weight leans more towards their hindquarters enabling them to perform higher degrees of movement. High degree mobility makes choosing a PRE for dressage a fine choice.
¶ Colour Genetics
Historically, only a rare number of colours was allowed in the breed, but recently the regulations were altered with the rare colours becoming more and more popular. The base colours and grey are the most common, with cream being a good second. The old and rare pearl allele has only recently been discovered but has since become very popular, with carriers becoming quite expensive.

Please note that the table includes a hidden agouti allele (At). Besides testable genes, there are also untestable ones present: flaxen, rabicano, and white markings (head markings, socks, etc.).
¶ Artwork Updates
The breed is available on Horse Reality since the beta version in 2015. Ever since the current Horse Reality version has been online, the PRE received/will receive the following updates:
- On 2nd April 2021 received a big artwork update.[1]
- The missing genes and alleles will be added to the game through new Foundation horses.[2][3]

¶ Breed in Real Life
The Pura Raza Española (PRE for short) is one of the best-known Iberian breeds from Spain. In North America, the PRE's closely related Lusitano is often grouped within the PRE breed, though the Lusitano has its own registry, bloodlines and history and it is slightly different in conformation.
