A year on Horse Reality takes 16 days in real life. This means horses age 1 month every 32 real-life hours. This happens automatically at the Age Rollover time (00:00 in-game time, this separate from the Manual Daily Rollover).
All time-related events (aging, pregnancy, death,…) progress automatically and cannot be slowed down or stopped, but it is possible to speed the horse ageing process up using DP.
Every day after 00:00 HR Time, a menu will pop asking each player to click “Start Rollover” before entering the game. Clicking this button will start a new day: Your horses will need to be cared for again, and their physical fitness and affection will drop.
If you don't click the Daily Rollover button, you won't be able to continue playing the game. The care status, fitness, and affection of your horses won’t drop in the meantime, so this is useful for when you don't have time to play for some time. Note that this doesn’t affect the ageing of your horses, pregnancies, horses passing away etc.! These always continue automatically, there is no way to halt or delay them.
By letting players press the Rollover button manually whenever they are ready, the heavy load on the sever care rollover creates gets spread out and reduced.
Event | Duration in Real-Life |
---|---|
1 month in-game | 32 hours |
1 year in-game | 16 days |
Pregnancy | 13.5 - 17 days |
Foal weaning (6 in-game months) | 8 days |
Foal becoming adult (3 in-game years) | 48 days |
Death (25-30 in-game years) | 400 – 480 days |
Because the age-rollover happens every 24 hours and horses age every 32 hours, horses will not age every rollover.
If you are too impatient to wait for your horse to age up naturally, you can speed up the process. This can be done on the Summary tab of a horse’s profile, where horses can be aged by 6 months for 75 DP per ageing.
This will not affect the pregnancy duration of mares. If a pregnant mare is aged using DP, she will become older but her pregnancy will not be shortened.
